Please pass on details of the track racing league .at Preston Park in Brighton that starts on Wednesday 16th April at 6.45 and runs for 18 weeks with the last race on the 13th August. This year riders wishing to take part can complete the registration form online at www.scrl.co to save time when they arrive. We are hoping that tis will specifically encourage riders to complete emergency contact details as this often gets overlooked when hurrying to complete the form at the track.
We have found over the last few seasons that an increasing number of road riders have found that riding at the track weekly has a definite benefit to their overall levels of fitness and skills. If there are any club members who are interested but slightly apprehensive then we do also run a 90 minute training session at the track on Friday evenings starting from the 18th April. There are some bikes available to borrow on a first come basis as well. Full details of this and the league on the Sussex Cycle Racing League website (www.scrl.co.uk) or riders can contact me as below.

We managed to get one team place for this year’s prestigious Ride London 100 event. Pete Ruane, Henry Wark, Andy Boyce and Paul Sweeney entered but unfortunately Paul had to pull out the night before with a hamstring injury meaning that we we couldn’t get a team result as it needs 4 riders. Pete, Henry and Andy rode this fantastic event with closed roads for 100 miles and followed by the professional Road race. Pete came in first at 4 hours 20 mins closely followed by Henry who got caught up in a crash (he was not involved) and Andy who rode the last 50 miles crippled with cramp! A great day out and an amazingly well organised event that we would recommend to anyone. The ballot for next year opens on Monday so get your names...read more
